Dale (ptbodale) works for Air Canada, and has said that AC is using the 345 on the YYZ - HKG route. Hong Kong is not part of Japan.

          What's your source?

Actually Air Canada has only ordered two 345's and as late August will only use them on YYZ-HKG. Obviously to run this route daily they are going to need both of them, so no, as of August they will not be seen anywhere but YYZ and HKG.

The only problem I can see with this setup is if one of these planes has to be grounded for mechanical reasons. It will then be impossible to fly this route daily with only one and the paying customers will be very unhappy about a lengthy delay and the insuing fuel stop in YVR when a 343 is put in to replace it. And right now the last thing AC needs is unhappy customers.

              Ciao

Nice pics. Good to see the entertainment system was working. It has been giving AC some problems.

Fin 951 should be arriving soon.

Always funny and interesting to get one's airliner pictured by a fellow photographer you know but whom you would not think he would be below with his cameras working

Dale: Yeah, the ventilation system is working now too! Heard a first-hand account of how it was shutdown on delivery. When we were de-planing in YVR, they obviously hadn't figured out the ambient music...we kept hearing a British voice say "boarding music number one, track number one" every 15 seconds or so for the duration. Actually made me laugh quite a bit!

Clovis: They were taking the 345 on domestic flights until August 1st for crew training (see above, it is neccesary trust me!). Then she will start the YYZ-HKG runs.

Alain: Definately funny! I've also seen pictures of another aircraft I was on, on the ground in Paris. I could see we taxiied right infront of a group of about 10 spotters and photographers, we were in the Star Alliance colours A340 and I was waving at them!

Thanks for sharing the pic! I had the camera filming the entire landing roll, but unfortunately I was on the other side of the aircraft

And to the rest, thanks for all the comments!

Okay...that is somewhat reassuring. Seeings as there is another one sitting out on the ramp here to be delivered...I would hope AC isn't putting them to waste
