Suggestions for flight advise

Moderator, I apologise in advance if this topic is in the wrong forum.

Howdy all,

I'll be flying to Guangzhou, China in under two months. Tossing up between the below routes and airlines. Options are:

QF (FC): MEL - HK - CAN vv
QF (FC) & SQ (BC): MEL - SIN - CAN vv
MAS (FC/BC): MEL - KUL - CAN vv
SIA (FC/BC): MEL - SIN - CAN vv
EK (FC): MEL - DUB - CAN vv
CI (FC): MEL - CAN vv

I already know which option I'd choose, but would like to hear others' opinions. Won't be needing to book the ticket for another few weeks so may opt to go the airline and sector that gets the most votes.

Anyone gonna be in Gangzhou between October 29th - November 3rd?

Pretty lame excuse for a message, I know, but it's half 4 on a Friday arvo and I'm bored outta my mind. Thank goodness it's Friday night drinks (wonderful management initiative) in five.

If i were you, i will take the Emirates (MEL-DXB-CAN) flights, hey hold on, there is no non-stop flight to DXB, right ? Have to go via SIN, wow, that would be even nicer.

The main reason i chose EK is i love to fly. It's the longest flight among them, right ?

But since you are going to fly in First Class/Business Class, then i think you should either take SQ or QF, does QF have First Class to HKG ? What airline will you take from HKG to CAN ? Is it CZ ? If it's CZ, then you better just take the SQ.

Well, I threw in emirates just for the heck or if. I wouldn't take them for this particular route as it'll throw an extra XX hours into the flight and transit time. Would like to do it under 24 hours if possible.

QF flies BC out of Melbourne on their A330, but have 744s outta Sydney (so in that instance it would incorporate a BC flight from MEL - SYD and then first from SYD - HKG).

To be honest I would not have a clue who QF CC out of HKG. It's either Eastern or Southern...* shrug * Doubt that it'll be CX. WOuld like to try the CX's new regional BC seats. Liked their older variants.

Oh, i see. Then if i were you, i will take SQ, because the onboard services are much better than QF, crews are more polite & friendlier too.

I think CZ is the only option to fly to CAN from HKG, but may be CA got some flights between these cities too ? By the way, there is nothing really special about the CX new regional Business Class, the seat pitch is still the same with some extras. & it's not available on all of their aircrafts yet.
