  • Scandinavian SEA-CPH

    Hi Everyone,

Exactly one week from now I will be boarding an SK A340 bound for CPH and I can hardly wait! I have taken this flight before and feel that it is truly premium. It is the only A340 that *I* have been on where PTVs are available for every class of service. It really makes the flight go by more quickly!

My entire routing on this trip will be :

    SEA-CPH-TXL
    AMS-CPH-SEA

I can post a review of this trip in this thread upon my return. Anyone else done the SEA-CPH-SEA route before on SK?

So I fly out tonight and am excited! Beautiful day here in Seattle as well.

Via FlyteComm I noticed that yesterday's inbound A343 arrived at 1:30AM versus the normal 5:00PM so I was concerned that my flight might be affected in some way. I called SAS and all is okay. I wonder how they might have pulled that off given that they should have had a 7:00PM departure last evening back to CPH!?

            Awesome!
I live in Denmark myself- I haven't travelled much on SK seeing they're a bit expensive when it comes to the trip I'm taking- mainly to Australia and Canada- so I wouldn't know
Due to financial problems and crew cut-downs, I wouldn't expect the crew members to smile too much though, but yet again, I wouldn't know, I hope you had a lovely flight, mate

Can I ask you though... what are you doing in such a small country as Denmark? :P

              Jannichan et. al,

Thanks for the response! We landed last evening in Seattle right on time in beautiful weather. The whole itinerary on SK was wonderful and I look forward to providing a full review and photos. I tried to take as many photos as possible both on board and outside of the jet. I took the most photos I ever have on these flights.

I did not spend much time in Denmark, per se. I was mostly in Berlin, Germany and Amsterdam. All flights were SK, though.

I'd love to hear your feedback on Scandinavian Airlines, what they are cutting back on, etc. I was trying to get a feel for the "atmosphere" while on board and I dare to say that it was not as 'enthusiastic' as when I flew previously. The overall quality seemed to be comparable, though . . .

              Much more to come soon ! . . . .

When I flew on SK in August, I got breakfast on the <1 hr flight, but I recently heard they're cutting food service in favor of BOB. Did they charge for headsets on the SEA-CPH leg.

Meals, spirits, headphones, etc. were all included on the long haul flights. For inter-Europe flights, meals were available for a charge. This was "new" to me since flying previously within Europe. I was actually surprised at the costs too .. a cup of coffee was going for 3 Euro. That was the biggest surprised and I was disappointed to see it but it is just the way that the entire industry is, really . . . .

I know its really sad considering their previous food was probably one of the best in Europe. Very few European carriers offer meals intra-Europe nowadays so it's really down to cost or service these days. It seems European Carriers are learning from the U.S. carriers of the BOB program. I'm also glad to see them offer headphones for free considering a few months ago they were charging a few Euro, and that's what really angered me.

                      Hi Everyone,

I currently have a number of photos of both this flight and of other planes seen on my itinerary in queue for publication on this site. There are also a number of others that I will paste into my text review on this board.

                      Have a Great Day!

I have an actual personal travelogue online now and it includes a variety of the photos from this flight. I will compile an actual flight report soon but here is the personal travelogue in the interim :

Thanks for the good words! Isn't your screen name the identifier of an SAS jet? Looks very familiar
