Hi Everyone,
It has been a bit of time since I took this flight but it is one that stands out as being one of the more enjoyable given its duration. I made a two-week trip throughout Europe last year which included the following segments :
SEA-ORD, ORD-FRA, FRA-TXL, TXL-FRA, FRA-VCE, VCE-FRA, FRA-PDX, PDX-SEA
The ORD-FRA leg was on LH and was an A343 as well. Upon booking this trip itinerary, the first thing that stood out to me was, "Wow there is a FRA-PDX flight in existence?" Luckily I flew business class on all of the A343 flights given that my disappointment was in finding that economy does not have PTVs. I enjoy PTVs on Scandinavian Airlines' A343s very much. PTV facilities exist on LH in business class and higher.
I found it intriguing while making my layover connection in Frankfurt hearing it announced "Lufthansa Flug nach Portland". There is seemingly one satellite in Frankfurt with numerous A343s all ready to depart to US cities like Denver, Dallas, and Portland. I arrived with just a little time to snap a photo prior to embarkation :

The flight was nearly one hour late in departure. I was already getting fidgety and thinking, "Great this is only one hour and there are about eleven to go". I could hear the door close and then open again behind me. Finally we departed and, despite the purported 'lag' of the A343 upon takeoff, it was an exciting roar.
Flying eastbound to Europe I have no problem sleeping four to five hours but heading westbound, I am awake nearly the entire flight. For those interested in seeing the flight tracked on the PTV :

Again, also fascinating was the onboard video documenting Portland. Living in the Pacific Northwest, it was interesting to see a documentary as such aboard one of my favorite airlines.
Having taken off nearly an hour late, it subsequently got me into Portland later than desired. I also missed my connection heading up to Seattle. I was pretty furious given that the airport knew that there was an inbound international flight and that the manifest had the connecting guests on it. OH well.
That is just a brief summary and if anyone should have questions, please feel free to ask!
Steve
