Actually I reckon their connection times to Europe are quite good from Sydney thanks to their three daily flights down there!
If you're flying into HKG onward to SYD from AMS, FRA, FCO, CDG, or LHR (CX252) you can get on the early morning departure (CX139) and touch down at SYD in the evening. The LHR moring arrival seems a bit too close for comfort though.
If you're flying into HKG from LHR on CX250 you can get on CX111 and get into SYD bright and early next morning.
Meanwhile you're flying to anywhere in Europe from Sydney via HKG just hop on CX100 and then it's on to one of 6 the midnight departures to Europe!
Besides, HK airport has so many shops and restaurants you could easily keep yourself occupied!
I am flying with Cathay Pacific in June. I realise this will be a busy time of the year.
I am flying from Sydney-Hong Kong-London-Hong Kong- Sydney.
Is it worth it???
Your Opinons?
When I fly between Toronto and HongKong, Cathay is the only airline I fly on. I don't even think about flying Air Canada's HongKong-Toronto non-stop service, although it (1) is slightly cheaper, (2) flies the much newer A340-500 and (3) cuts the flying time from 20hrs to 16hrs each way compared to Cathay's service which flies via Anchorage.
