After a long & enjoyable Spring Break, which included my first 737-800 ride, visits to Delta Connection Academy, ERAU, Phoenix East Aviation, and Adam Wright, it was time to pack up & head home. For a few weeks, we had known that our first flight on our trip home, DL 5434 was oversold. My mom's a bump freak & volunteers whenever she can, sometimes to success, other times, to failure. This time was successful, however, and it started off one of the most interesting reschedulings I've ever been in. We asked whether or not volunteers were needed & a few minutes later, the gate agent came back & told us two were needed, earning us $200 DL Dollars a piece. My dad & brother said they'd go home, and my mom & I would stay in DAB. We then found out that we wouldn't be able to get out until Tuesday morning, so we headed back to our house & took it easy for the next 24 hours.

We were bumped again...show me the money! Another $400 in DL vouchers a piece.
Like the previous day, we tried to find out when we could get home. Our original plan was to go back to DAB & leave on the 7pm flight. Then, while glancing at the computer screen at the podium, I noticed Song flights & said "It'd be cool if we could go on Song...". "We can do that." the gate agent replied. My mom & I got a laugh out of the fact that we would be routed through Boston, and after agreeing to our "Songventure", we were in a van with two other people who had been bumped off DL 1067 headed to MCO. We got to MCO around 1:00 for our 3:10 Song adventure, and used our meal vouchers to pick up lunch in the main terminal. The Burger King which used to be in DL's Airside was no longer there, so while my mom was able to sit & eat, I had to take the monorail back to the main building, grab some McDonald's, and ride it back.

The atrium @ MCO, probably the coolest airport in the US.

Hooters!

N861DA from the monorail.

After eating, we headed down to Gate 94 for:
DL 2014 (Song) MCO-BOS
757-200 N6711M
April 5, 2005

Boarding was quick...we were actually in a zone higher than Zone 7, sitting in 25E & F. I watched the "Screen Saver" for a few minutes & looked out the window.

A few minutes later, three kids, whose ages put together were probably less than how old I am (17) took the seats behind us. One felt the need to kick the living hell out of my mom's seat for about 15 seconds, to which my mom said "This isn't gonna last too much longer." That ended, and pushback began. The safety recording was surprising....a woman with a strong Irish accent read the information, as "it was an Irish theme on this flight & she would be doing a jig while giving us safety information". Ok...that's weird. We taxied to 17R & went into position on the runway following a departing ERJ. I was flipping through the music choices already at this point, and as the engines spooled for takeoff, I picked T.I.'s "Rubberband Man" for takeoff. I also recorded the takeoff on my digital camera...I'll upload it to flightlevel350.com later.
As soon as we got airborne, we hit some pretty strong turbulence, which smoothed out. We turned north & passed just to the west of...DAB, where I had started the day.

(Sorry the last one's blurry.)
Menus were passed out...$2 for a bag of M & M's? Damn ripoff, IMO. I stuck with an ice water.
. My mom went through the news channels & I found the only thing that I felt like watching..."Keeping Up Appearances", which was on BBC America. (There wasn't anything else on worth watching. Seriously.) After that ended, I switched to the Trivia game & finished 2nd twice in two games there. There were some easy questions & some that were ridiculous. I wasn't able to pull off a win in that, so I switched back to the Airshow map, then over to the music. We passed to the east of New York, which was disappointing, because I wanted to be able to see it. About that time, we started our descent from FL370. I walked to the back for a try at a cabin shot:

We then made a few turns, and a few minutes later, landed in Boston, somewhere I never would have imagined being at the start of the day.
(I got a video of the landing too...also to be uploaded to FL350) We taxied to gate A20 in the new terminal, deplaned, and looked for something to eat. We wanted to go to the Wendy's by our connecting gate, A11, but it wasn't open at that point. We then tried Legal's Test Kitchen, where I ordered Chicken Strips & while waiting, let my mom talk on the phone while I explored the new terminal. Nice facility...even smelled new! After dinner, we went to A11 for

The plane arrived late from CMH, but it only took about 10 minutes for it to be turned around & after that, we boarded. We took 14B & C, the last occupied seats on that flight. We pushed back, taxied to Rwy. 9 & after a US 737-300, took off. There was a drink service, during which I put in my CD of Eddie Izzard's "Glorious" show....which is hilarious. About 1 hr 15 min into the flight, we passed to the south of Zanesville, identifiable by the Y-Bridge, and shortly thereafter, we landed in CMH on 28R. We taxied back to Gate C54 & reclaimed our carry-on bags. We walked to the arrivals area, where my dad picked us up & took us home.

(Again, sorry for the blur)
Overall, Song was good, but there could've been a bit more choice on the TV Channels. Boston's new terminal is cool, but needs a bit more food choice, which I guess is coming. Hope you enjoyed the report...I'm hoping to submit some pics to the database & if they're accepted, I'll add them to the thread.
