Egyptair did not lease and buy former AF 707s, However ZARKANI Airlines of Egypt did.
So its possible EGY could have leased a Zarkani fleet member, which retained the cabin furnishing of their previous owners !!! . Zarkani operated 2 former AF, both models 328Cs and two former BA, both 336Cs.

      Thanks for the information Alain.

I found out that Air Lease Egypt was in fact an Egyptian airline, which operated breefly between 1982 and 1983, and later became Misr Overseas Airways until they became extinct in 1989.

Is it possible that I flew on a Air Lease Egypt plane leased to Egypt Air?

      I don't know what was Air Lease Egypt's fleet but Mirs Overseas Airways had 4 B707's: SU-EAA/FAA/FAB/FAC. SU-EAA was ex SU-BAO; SU-FAB was ex OE-URA; SU-FAC was ex N8415. I don't know anything about SU-FAA.

Unfortunetly, I couldn't find anything else.

      Regards.

SU-FAA was ex OE-URB I think as both Montana Austria's shorty 138Bs ended up in Egypt.
Air Lease Egypt operated two 321Bs.
Lease to EGY possible, as Air Lease worked for third parties.
SU-EAA/FAA and FAB were operated on lease to Egypt Air for quite a few years between 1982 and 1986.

            Thanks for the information Alain.

However, is it possible that a flew on a ex AF plane owned by Air Lease Egypt and leased to Egypt Air, or owned by ZAS leased to Air Lease Egypt and sub-leased to Egypt Air?

I haven't flown AF yet so I find it difficult to have such a distinct memory of a plane with a AF interior.

I checked on www.aerotransport.org again, the two 707s leased to EGY by Air Lease Egypt are models 321Bs which started their useful lives with PA.
Zarkani had tight commitments while operating on a shoe string. They later sold a 707 (one of the two 336Cs) to Naganagani, an airline based at Ouagadougou/Burkina Faso operating in conjunction with Point Air.
AF 707-328Bs and Cs (pax config) cabin furnishing as far I remember
              - seats were navy blue
              - logo on seat buckles was today's code bar acting as tail logo since 1976
              - walls was kinda several tones of brown in order to imitate some castle tapestry (AF 707s were named upon famous french castles)
I think your flights were on board either
              - a regular Egyptair's 366C or
              - one of the two 321Bs provided by Air Lease, maybe one of those as you write seats were blue.

Thanks again for your info Alain.

The seats were indeed navy blue. I don't remember about the walls or bulkheads. However the logo I was referring to is the one shown is this picture:

Anyway, I rest my case now.

                Thanks for your help.
