I usually don't post flight reviews because I fly so much and they're usually uneventful.
I was pleased to find our aircraft would be N363SW "Heroes of the Heart" dedicated to a hard-working of behind-the-scenes WN Employees. For the current year it is dedicated to the Fuel Management department. If anyone deserves it, they do - for saving WN's wallet.
Okay so we departed on time at 9:30am. I had my window seat on the right side about row 9 (I think), just in front of the #2 engine. Once we were airborne the captain came on and said we would be cruising at 33,000 feet! I thought that was mighty high for only being in the air about 40 minutes. Anyone else agree with that? I mean we were descending before I got my Diet Coke.
Anyway, during our descent we came to the cloud layer. It was like a blanket of cotton balls looking very soft and thick. The top shined in the morning sun. Of course I wanted to kick myself for not bringing my camera. But the coolest thing was we got right to the cloud layer and we just stayed there for what seemed about 5 minutes. I mean we literally skimmed just a couple feet above the clouds so the puffy clouds were flying past my window. It was one of the neatest things I have ever seen while flying, and I've flown hundreds of times. I hope everyone can experience something similar.
We had a smooth landing and arrived at HOU a few minutes early at gate 23 in the new terminal there.
