  • Anyone flown Independence Air?

Hey all, I'm planning on taking a flight to IAD this July. I'm looking at United Express departing from EWR, Continental Express departing from EWR, and Independence Air departing from JFK. Indy Air would be closest to me, so that might be better than the others. But how is Indy Air? Has anyone flown with them?

How are their CRJ-200s? What's the comfort level? What did you think about the overall ride (take-off, turbulence, landing)? Was the service good? And one last question..are you able to stand in the aircraft? Thanks!

DH has the MOST comfy seats ever! And the flight attendants are so nice! On my 3 JFK-IAD flights I have gotten water/coffee/orange juice service, hot towels, and mints! I was also the first person to ever get the little wings they pass out to young children! lol

Haha, he is saying to use the credit card because Independance is in a bad situation money wise. Got another "jetsgo" scheme, buy with a credit card just in case.... .

Yep, currently I-Air is around end of June, now whether thats true or not, im not sure, but its a possibility. Debit cards typically offer no protection if you dont get the service you pay for, thats why most people dont buy tickets and such with cash.

                        Indy Air is great!!

I just flew them on Sunday ATL-IAD-JFK. On the ATL-IAD leg, our F/A Aljeanne was FANTASTIC. She really made you feel like she wanted to help you enjoy the flight. It was obvious that she loved her job. She was constanly up and down the aisle making sure everyone was ok, even conversating and joking with ALL 50 of the passengers on our full flight (Yes she had a conversation with ALL 50 passengers). Service included all the cookies, pretzels, sun chips, or granola bars you wanted, and a full beverage service. All that on a 80 minute flight. The seats are spread out, wide, and confy, with ample leg room, probably more room then I've ever had on an CRJ.

On the IAD-JFK leg, the ride was just as good, with a hot F/A Eunice (couldn't have been older then 25) and a female captain (Sorry, had to mention it). We did not have any snacks (flight was 40 minutes from take off to touch down) but we did get a full beverage service, plus mints and hot towels, which is more than most 40 minute flights get on other carriers. I would recommend Independence Air to anyone looking for a low fare and quality service, on the ground and in the air.
