Well, after a long wait, it was finally time to go on a thanksgiving vacation to Puerta Vallarta, Mexico. We were flying on Funjet Vacations/Ryan International Airlines and our flight left MKE at 9:00am.
So I was woken up by my dad at about 5:30 am. I got dressed, ate a sandwhich, and was ready to go. My grampa came to take my dad, mom, sister, brother, and me to the airport. We live just south of Milwaukee so it was a short drive. We got to the airport, said goodbye to our grampa and went inside to check in. The whole check in area wasnt as crowded as it was last time I flew from MKE. So we found the funjet counter and waited about 10-15 mintues in line before we got up to the desk and got our borading passes. My Seat would be 19F.
We went in the main termina lounge and I was hungry so I went to Cinnebun to get a cinnemon roll which was very tastey. Then I walked around some and found a little museum of Mitchell Airport.

Our flight was to depart out of concourse C which excited me since the concourse is currently going under renovation/expansion. We headed through security and we got through it quickly. Only after us did the line start to grow. Once we entered the gates area I went and bought my self a magazine and after that I walked around to do some spotting.
Here is a shot of the 3 new extra gates in terminal C which are 6, 7 , and 8 - They are currently used by Apple vacations, Frontier & USA 3000

I was able to catch some UA action, the united crj in the ex-airtran colors is pushing back for ORD while the united crj in the new colors is coming in from denver.

Then I went over to C23 as boarding had begun for our flight to Mexico. Unsurprisingly, my flight was a Futura 737-800 with winglets.

Boarding went by quickly as I headed to 19F and took this shot soon after

Soon after we headed out to 19L and we were first for departure. We turned onto the runway and the engines fired up and started our take off roll. We sped past the terminal and lifted off into the gloomy Milwaukee sky.

Climging out over the southern suburbs of Milwaukee

After take off we made a turn to change our heading in a southwesternly direction. There was light turbulence during the climbout. After that we leveled offat 33,000 feet. The buy on board meal service came through and I bought a breakfast sandwhich. After that they showed the movie Taxi.

As we entered Mexico we encountered some mild turbulence which ended not to long before we started to decend. For the rest of the flight I read my magazine and stared out the window. Before long the ocean came into view and we started our approach into PVR. We flew over some very rich estates in the mountians. After that we made a final turn to line up for final at PVR
A very scenic approach into PVR

Pretty soon the flaps went down and the gear came out. We went over some farms and some streets and glided down onto the runway at PVR. We touched down at around 1:00pm

We cleared the runway and we headed to the gate. I got a glipmse of the tower and the general aviation ramp. The main terminal had 3 jetways which are only used for domestic flights. Then there were about another 10 parkings stands. We parked at the farthest one. The engines shut down and we exited through the back of the aircraft and headed onto the shuttle bus. I snapped this shot of PVR.

I got one last shot of our plane as we drove away

We went trough customs, got our luggage and headed outside to our bus which would take us to our hotel. Our vacation had begun!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our hotel was called the Marival. It was great. There were 2 snack bars, 4 restaurants, 4 pools, a jacuzzi, ENDLESS AMOUNT OF BARS, and of course, a big white sandy beach. We went into town towards the end of our trip to buy some suvoniers.
Here a shot I took of the overview of the hotel after we arrived.

Well, before you knew it, it was time to head home.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
After we woke up we headed down to the breakfast buffet for a quick breakfast. We did some late packing after we ate and headed to the lobby to check out. Once checkout was complete we waited a bit until the bus came to take us to the airport. The bus ride was about 15 minutes so it wasnt that bad.Once we arrived at the airport we got in a long linw but we got through it pretty quickly. Security went by quickly and we headed to the gates area. A security guard told me to put my camera away or else it would be taken so I dont have any shots from inside the terminal. I was impressed by the very quick turnaround times of some of the other aircraft I saw there. Before long our flight landed from Milwaukee, and unfortunenatley our turnaround wasnt that quick. We headed out to a shuttle bus which would take us to the aircraft.
Heres the only shot I got at PVR of a saab from Aeromexico

Our place was right were where it was parked last week. This time my seat was 22F. Boarding was quick and we pushed back soon after. I noticed we had the same flight crew from last week.

The taxi was short and we were first for departure so we turned onto the runway and imediatly roared down the runway.

Shot of the coastline

We leveled off at 35,00 feet and the pilot came on the speaker and announced we may have to divert to ORD because of heavy fog in MKE. The showed Mr. & Mrs. Smith during the flight and the meal service was a pizza.

This flight was very turbulentic, as there was pretty rough turbulence throughout most of the flight. As it got darker the pilot annouced we would be able to land in MKE. We decended through the misty fog and only until right before landing could I see anything on the ground. We glided onto runway 19L and while we were slowing down there was a roar of applause from the passengers. This seemed pretty rare and I thought the clapping came because of all the turbulence during the flight and the hard landing through the fog. We made a long taxi to the international arrivals terminals, yes MKE has an international arrivals terminal. It only has one gate. We got of the plane, cleared customs, got our luggage, and were greeted by my grampa outside. We drive home discussing the trip and then here I am now writing this trip report.
Well that was my first trip report and I hope you enjoyed reading it!!!!!!!
