My best ever flight was in a Ansett 767-200 from SYD to PER. Most of the flight i sat in the jumpseat. It was great!!!!!

Best and most memorable trip
By and large, my first visit to South America stretching over 8 weeks back in 1988. Although I spent much time at the airports and nearby hotels, I managed to visit Asuncion, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Caracas, Quito, Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia and Sao Paulo, all offering me the wide diversity found in this fabulous part of the world. On the other hand, I could not make what I really wanted ; visit throughoutfully all the places with combining spotting and photography.
On the airliners flown side, this was a 707 galore together with quite a few new entries in terms of types and versions ; Convair 580 / 727-100 / Lockheed Electra / MD.83 and 767.
The Brasilian part proved extremely interesting ; Transbrasil and Varig operated their last passengers 707s and 721s, while RG added its A.300B4 on this list, and while 733s and 767 were lurking around. In term of domestic ticket, Varig used to sell a REAL unlimited pass to visitors outside the country, the travel document handed over was a MCO which had to be shown each time one needed a ticket. There was just two conditions to observe ; not to fly the same ticketed sector twice or more and not to use the Ponte Aereo between Santos Dumont and Congonhas where the Electras reigned supreme. But Ponte Aereo from/to GIG were fully aviable for use !

anyone ever been on a let 410, fun stuff, after hurrican mitch back in 97/98 i was on an island in honduras and the only way to get off this particular day was a let 410, only problem was the blade feathering mechanism on this old twin turbo POS wasnt working, nto really a serious problem but then i saw the flight atttendant having trouble with the door, wich i migth asdd was in serious needd of some ductape, oh and then one other time the airconditioning came one and it looked liek smoke, pretty funny
LONG LIVE AEROLINEAS SOSAyou might be an island hopper pilot if:
1. Turning on the airconditioning involves opening the cockpit window
2. The cabin door is in need of ductape
