First comment a tad worrying Brian but totally understandable and the Lynx was that at an airshow. The Britsh crews can do some insane things with these and must be fab to experience.

Quote...First comment a tad worrying Brian but totally understandable and the Lynx was that at an airshow....Endquote.

The Lightning flight came about as a result of a visit to Farnborough with my ATC squadron. We used to go down once year and take pot luck at what flights pilots offered us. All my mates had gone for a ride around in a Wessex chopper and I was alone in the crew room when the pilot popped his head around the door and took me for the flight of a lifetime. Out over the Channel, a quick burst of 1000mph+ over the Bay of Biscay, back via Rouen taking a picture of the cathedral as we flew by and back to Farnborough.
My mates didn't believe a word of it......until I showed them the pics the next week !!

The Lynx flight came much later when I was in the army. I was doing some medical work at RN hospital Haslar. The CPO in charge of casualty knew of my interest in aviation and arranged the flight from Lee on Solent, out around the Isle of Wight and back. That machine sure can scoot on.

Just remembered two other chopper flights.
Queensland Rescue Service Bell 412 around the port of Cairns, Australia and surrounding area and a US Army Blackhawk casevac while on exercise in Germany.
If it 'ain't broken........ Don't try to mend it !
