  • QA (SEA)-LAX-AKL & AKL-LAX-(SEA)

    Hi Everyone,

One week from tomorrow I'll be taking my first flight aboard Qantas .. and first trans-Pacific flight ever at that.

Has anyone flown Qantas from LAX-AKL? I would love to hear about the on board experience (economy). As you might know, SAS is my favorite airline to date but I am available for runners up or new winners.

I'll post my experiences in this same threat upon my return!

    Hi Steve
Same here- my first QF flight will be from LAX-AKL in December so it would be great to hear your experiences too!

This is what i have found out so far (im a student so i have too much time on my hands!)
    Operated by a B747-400 in 2 class config (56 C and 356Y)
IFE- no AVOD on this route as yet but you do get your own personal seat back screen (6.4 incH)(http://www.qantas.com.au/info/flying...kland_Economy2 f
    for what movies are showing)
For more cabin info check out this link

I think QF are a good airline- sorry i couldnt have been more help (you probably know this info anyway!)

    Have a great trip

          Hi Everyone,

I've returned from my journey to New Zealand and it was spectacular. I spend just over two weeks in New Zealand and flew the following segments :

          Seattle-Los Angeles (Alaska)
          Los Angeles-Auckland (Qantas)
          Rotorua-Christchurch (Air New Zealand)
          Queenstown-Auckland (Qantas)
          Auckland-Los Angeles (Qantas)
          Los Angeles-Seattle (Alaska)

I plan to get a report with photos up shortly. On the LAX-AKL segment we flew a 747-400 in business class on the upper deck and then from AKL-LAX we flew a 747-338 in business class in the nose section.

            New Zealand Travelogue Now Online!

            Hi Everyone,

I've combined my flight and travel review into one, as I have done in the recent past. Below are the links to both pages of the travelogue. I have inserted below some of the highlights of some of the photos I took as well. I submitted a few photos for publication (all rejected - LOL) so I'll just share them with you here.

            Page One & Page Two

I hope that you find the travelogue interesting or useful!
