Just arrived back to BOS last night, the theme of this trip is "Under Construction"
Saturday, Feb. 24th
BOS:
Departed from BOS-RDU. I was able to avoid the school vacation week mess at the counters for AA mainline by checking in at the nearly empty AE counters. My first flight was to RDU on the ERJ135. After checking in, I then took some time to explore before going through security. Nearly all terminals are interconnected, so i ended up going through to Terminal C (Former terminal D area) and back before going through security at B.
Part of Terminal B is currently under construction; it looks like they are adding more food/shopping areas. Speaking of which, it cost ~$7 to purchase a bottled water and a yogurt cup at the existing food court area. Talk about taking advantage of the no bottled water through security situation. Pathetic.
While in B, I attempted some shots of Gate 32, the departing gate of AA Flight 11 to Los Angeles on the morning of 9/11/2001:
From there, I finally made my way back to the AE gates. While waiting to board, I caught one of the US classic logojets passing by. Tried to unload my camera in time, but still managed a shot, unfortunately not the best quality...

RDU:
Arrived after a seemingly short flight. The ERJ135 had clean, sizable windows, which was great for pictures.
Half the terminal (primarily AA and AE, as RDU is a former hub for American) was demolished and a larger structure was under construction. Since I had plenty of time, I left the half of the terminal that was remaining, and went to explore. Unfortunately I was not able to get to the remote observation deck, but I managed to get some shots from the parking garage. Not as busy as TPA was a couple months ago, but it was someplace new I haven't been through before. From there I returned to the terminal and went back through security. They ASKED me if I hade any of the forbidden items, and I was honest and showed them what I had. I then had to discard some things, luckily thet were almost empty so there was minimal loss for my honesty in telling them what I had...
After a brief delay due to lack of gate space, I left on the next flight to MIA, aboard N928AT; 737-800. Due to the delay, it was getting too dark to take decent photos, but managed some wing views while I still could-
MIA:
Arrived slightly late at MIA. No time for pictures, but managed to get from our arrival gate in C to the D35 / AE departures area. The path from C to D was through a series for tunnels around the construction. The rendered drawings of the completed project show that MIA will soon be easier to travel through. As soon as I got to D35, it was time to take the short bus over to the plane, and ATR72 - N540AM
EYW:
Finally after a day of traveling on three planes through four airports, I finally arrived in Key West. The terminal is maxed out, even after it was renovated about 10 years ago. Check-in is on one side of the building, security is out on the sidewalk. Check-in, security, and baggage claim are all separated and you can't go from one to another from inside. This is due to the extreme lack of space. Once I went outside, I saw groundbreaking on yet another airport construction project - EYW is getting a new elevated parking area and terminal. Apparently part of the need is from additional water damage to the aging terminal from hurricanes in recent years. Big-time upgrades for little EYW.
