My flight was at 6:04 and United advised me when I called to confirm my reservation, that I need to arrive two hours before, so that means arriving at SFO at 4:04 am. It was about a twenty minute taxi ride to the airport. Plus about 30 minutes to get up and get ready. I had a wake up call set for 3:10. I got about 4 hours of sleep when the call came, I was up and ready to go at 3:45 and got a taxi about 3:50, quick for that time in the morning. I got at the United check in counters at about 4:10 to discover that they didn't even open until 4:45.
So I got in line behind 20 other people in a group. The first agent came out at around 4:48 and then another, then another, until there were 5 agents. It took about 15 minutes to get there and 10 to check in. I got to security and I was advised that it is reccomended to take off your shoes, I did, the guy in front of me did not and went through extra screening and questioning. I figure its worth taking off your shoes than going through an extra five minutes of security checks. I went straight to gate 82 where there was a huge crowd of people waiting to board, where did they come from? I was practically first through evrywhere. Hmmm...?
Boarding began at 5:24. I was in seating area 4, but I was in seating area 3 on the way here, my row was the same, just on the other side of the plane. Hmmm...? strange again.
We pushed back at 5:58 and taxied to runway 1L, we were ready for takeoff, but needed clearence from the tower and we sat for close to 15 minutes while other plane took off around us. I was disappointed that channel 9 was off.
We took off and left foggy San Francisco. For breakfast, we were given a Dave's doughnut. Very good!
There is nothing else to say, the rest of the flight was boring. Nothing happened. Once we landed and taxied to the gate, I asked the FA if it was ok to take some pictures in the flight deck. She said sure. No problem. I proceeded up front and talked with the co-pilot and took my pictures. I'll post pictures later.
