I took NWA's new (started 3-29-2008 ) flight from Portland to Amsterdam on May 18. NW92, a 330-200,
tail number N852NW.
We pushed back right on time at 16:05 and were in daylight all the way, arriving at AMS at 11:00, May 19.
Most trans-Atlantic and trans-Pacific flights offer little to see, but this one is much better. Along the way
we saw the midnight sun (at 00:00 New York time) and mountains in Greenland.
NW92 lifting off from runway 10L.
Flight route. Not quite over the pole, but near enough.
The Midnight Sun (Midnight, New York time).
Our flight status.
Our progress.
Nice view of some mountains in Greenland.
The final leg - heading for AMS
tail number N852NW.
