Good morning everyone,
I am back from my sunny vacation and prepared a report for you guys.
AUG. 16 2003
Air Transat flight 702
Departure at 2310
YMX-VRA
Airbus A310-300
Full pax.
Airport
We arrived that the airport arround 2000 to get our tickets and to check in. The asked the usual questions, and I request a window seat and I got it. 18A was the lucky seat, right next to the wing. The requested as to be at gate 45 before 2130. I forgot to mention a very small detail, please d'ont spend your $ at Mirabel cause it's very very expensive.
Boarding
It's 2310 and NADA. No boarding, we waited until midnight to finnaly hear from the air transat crew that they will start the boarding ''process''. Everybody rushed to the gate like if there weren't not enough seats available! LOL. Anyway we got it and started pushback about 10 minutes later.
Pushback
There is alot of miss coordination at TS, the captain said we will be cruissing at 35000, and the flight director at 36000. The captain was right. Anyway, we departed about 1hour and 10 minutes late.
Taxiing
We taxied to runway 29, whit out any problems.
Takeoff
we took off on the mirabel 3 departure, runway heading to 4000 feet. NO PROBLEM.
Cruz
It was a ssssssssssssssmmmmmmmmouth flight, we had for ''dinner'' a very smal sandwich whit organge jus and coffe and a smal salat.
Approach to Varadero
An other miss coorditation whit the flight director, she told us we were on FINAL approach, which we were on final for about 30minutes?
Touchdown
A nice landing by captain Gagnon.
Taxiing to our Gate
We had to wait a couple of minutes because the was an other airplane ( I think a Jetsgo MD83 ) at our gate.
Shutdown
At shutdown, we left the plane the last and I had the chance to visit the 310 cockpit. Thanks guys!
The vacation
It was beautiful, just beautiful. There was a planeboat flying over the beach a couple of times a day.
Back to Montreal.
AUG. 31 2003
Air Transat flight 703
Departure at 0440
VRA-YMX
Airbus A310-300 ( C-GLAT )
Full pax.
Everybody was all bronzed up, some still white! and some very very red.
The bus took us from the hotel at midnight;30 on a 30minutes drive to the airport. At the airport, the usual.
The Cubans wanted to take our bagages inside like if we didn't have hands.
Check-in
There were only 2 COUNTERS open for 230 PAX !
About 15 minutes later they realized that they had to open an other one. I once again asked for a window seat and got seat 20K.
Boarding
We had to wait about 3hours+ for boarding at the airport.
Boarding ''process'' began and it was pretty fast, and BTW it wasn't by rows -->1st come 1st served.
Pushback
started at 0405, YUP!, the plane was early this time.
But beleive this, the captain apologized that the plane is late.
Anyway, this is air transat.
Taxiing
Taxiing was fast and we had to wait on the runway for 5 minutes.
Takeoff
As usual.
Cruz
The flight director didn't stop talking, and those damn F/As just kept screaming during the flight....

And once again the flight director told us ''we will be cruissing at 36000, YEA RIGHT!.
The captain said 33000 feet then 37000 feet.
Approach to Mirabel
Everything went fine
Landing
We landed on runway 06, captain Labelle turned the spoilers as soon as ground and we stop very fast.
Taxiing to the gate
We taxied very fast, like if we were in a hurry. Outside temperature 10oc!
Shutdown
Everybody left except me, took a picture of the cabin and asked for the flight deck again, but the F/A said they were having their briefing now.
In all, I enjoyed the flight, but that Flight director always kept taking cr*p.
