Hey there, well this trip report has a bit of delay...
Last summer I spent 3 months in Italy with my grandparents...
and this is the report on my way back home.
Now I'm leaving again in 10 days (MEX-AMS-FCO) you'll get
that trip report soon.
So this is the first part of the trip if you want to read first.
(MEX-LHR-FCO)
I was suppoused to come back home on Aug the 7th, but a
last moment school schedual gave me 1 more week of Roman
vacations...
I managed to get my ticket changed... with the charge that
this has... and got a seat on my two flight...but on separate days...
FCO-LHR on Friday Aug 14th (day of my birthday)
and LHR-MEX on Sat Aug 15th.
So I booked a night at the Sofitel Heathrow T5... got a nice
fare on a booking website... about 90GBP.
BOOKING, PHONE SERVICE, ONLINE CHECK IN.
We payed the ticket change directly on the airport about 1
month earlier... I was going to Paris and I payed before leaving.
Although we had to wait about 30 min... that the lady arrived
to work.

I checked in online one day before with no problems and got
my seats confirmed on both flights. But no boarding pass
to print at home.
So the day sadly came... we celebrated my bday that morning and after lunch we headed to the airport for my 18.50 flight to London
Airport & Ground Service
I got to the airport with plenty of time... we tried to get my boarding pass on the self-service machine and no luck...so we got in line... and after 20 minutes I got both boarding passes.
We drank a capuccino on the Terrazza Restaurant with view to the runways.... said Ciao Ciao, 'till next year.
I had to go to Satellite C on the skybridge... very fast and with no problems I got there.
I hanged out for a while... Satellite C is full of nice shops... and then... Ciao Ciao Italia. Time for boarding.
Sorry for the window reflection, at that ime of the day is harder.

Once I boarded, I had a family with a baby... we just smiled at eachother, no big chitchat.
Service began and we got a nice sandwich and then the flight attendant asked me what did I want to drink, it went more or less like this:
FA: Would you like a drink Sir
Me: Yes, the best red wine you have I’m celebrating.
FA: Oh really, what are we celebrating?
Me: My birthday, I’m turning 18 today.
FA: Oh!!! Congratulations dear, well here our best red wine.
I had the meal and the red wine.
The Flight attendant collected the trash and 5 minutes later she got to my seat with a little bottle of Pommery champagne…
FA: Well here to celebrate your 18th birthday!
That was such a nice thing…. Thank You Very Much.
Moments after that we began our descent through the English Channel and we landed 30 minutes after 8pm.
I then de-boarded thanked again the kind Flight Attendant for the champagne.
Once inside the terminal I headed to the exit and up to the tunnel that takes you to Sofitel in Terminal 5.
There’s a very nice lobby. I got my wonderful room and enjoyed the stay.
Nice room, wonderful bathroom, Hermès products a huge bed and a nice flat TV.
The day after I left the airport and went into the terminal, where I in 5 minutes I got my boarding pass for Mexico City, as I had my bags checked in all the way to MEX.
I passed security and walked around the Terminal.

I had to take a bus to a satellite where the gate of my flight was.

Looks another good set of BA flights, are you flying BA again this year on the same route. If so, it will be interesting to see how the cutbacks have affected BA. Enjoy your trip to Italy and I look forward to seeing another good flight review from you.
