Here it was 4:50 and I was about 60 people away from the crack squad of security personel in terminal E of Philadelphia International Airport. I had just switched my departure time from 8pm to 6:40 am on Delta. This meant that instead of flying a FRJ the whole way home to CHattanooga I had the privaledge of taking a 732 from Philly to CVG. upon boarding I found that I was sitting in an exit row! Unfortunantly there was no missing seat like I am used to in other exit rows. None the less it seems that the 732 has much more leg room in coach than the MD80 that I was used to seeing from Delta.
As we took off (ON TIME!) I struggled to maintain my awake state. Next thing that I know I am woken up by turbulence. Perfect, as the beverage cart was just comming to my row. This would be the story all of the way to CVG. The visability out of the windows was dismal. It looked like everything was covered in a thick layer of snow.
As we descended into CVG I was awake due to the sugar that I just gulpped down. Then the whine of the reversers. Is it just me or does a 732 sound like an old four holer when she engages her reversers?
As I entered the magnificent Delta terminal at CVG I again was reminded how much more I enjoy flying through CVG rather than ATL to go home. Needless to say that I had to hustle to make my Comair connection. I really enjoy taking the shuttle. I can get up close and personal with aircraft that I would never see otherwise. Now if I could just remember to snap some shots!
I always look forward to flying on Comair. They have awesome F/As and I really enjoy flying the CRJ over an ASA ATR. Needless to say that my flight was not crowded at all. I was able to get a row to myself! I had the joy of sitting across from a UPS pilot. This made my brief hop fun.
Anyways I give Delta and Comair two thumbs up for these flights. The F/As were kind and customer oriented. My flights were on time, and comfortable for the most part. If anything the worst part was leaving so freakin early! Note to Self----- Sleep is a good thing to have when traveling.
