Hey you guys!
Overview:
I orginally was schedueled to leave on August the 8th, but since my summer was all changed around anyways, I decided to stay in Jacksonville for five weeks with my family. I tried to book myself on a flight leaving in the Afternoon when traveling westbound (so I arrive in the evening rather than traveling across the country for half the day and then coming home and spending another half, very tiring and depressing), but since my ticket was booked on milage, I couldnt, so instead I was booked leaving at 6AM from Jacksonville to Washington Dulles, Washington Dulles to Los Angeles, and then from Los Angeles to Carlsbad, CA.) Here are the details of each segment.
Cock-a-doodle-doo!
I checked into the Jacksonville international airport at 4:30AM. I wanted to get there early so I could possibly get an exit row seat, my grandmother wanted me to travel as a UM, I refused! Wouldnt you? The ticket agent told me that I could try for an exit row at the gate, so after getting my ticket I headed for cinnabon and got some goodies for the trip up to DC knowing that I would be getting the minimum. I kissed my grandparents goodbye and went through security. I got to the gate and was shocked at how busy it was at 5:25AM in Jacksonville. The gate agent told me that I needed to check for an exit row seat at Washington Dulles and was very bitchy. I boarded the very new looking CRJ on a jetway and crossed the little bridge between the jetway and the regional jet. Those are neet to me. I sat in my seat and settled in. I always try and be friendly with the person next to me, and I told him that I wanted to be an airline pilot and found out that he works for ACA! As we were heading for the runway I noticed that there were 8 united express CRJS parked at the gates and at the edge of the terminal. He explained that there are many arrivals from Chicago and DC after the last departure of the day to each city, and the first arrival isnt until 10 or 11, so after a CRJ leaves each gate, the next will be pulled up. We took off and went through the cloud layer and I watched the beautiful sunrise. The flight attendant was very friendly, she gave us a drink and a nutri grain bar. I took a bunch of photos and talked to the ACA employee sitting next to me. When we started our approach I was watching all the landmarks by the DC area. When we were on our finals a vapor trail (if you will) came off the edge of the wing. When we landed I saw a variety of aircraft. When we taxied by the A gated I was suprised to see that the J41s were still in service. I got off and rushed to the C concourse to catch my next flight to LA. Our flight time was around 1 1/2 hrs. And the flight number was 7350.

I made it just fine to the gate for my departure to LAX. When I boarded there was a little boy seating next to me and he kept staring. I was starting to think that this was going to be a long flight, he then went to sit next to his dad in the middle section of the aircraft. I got lucky and had a row to myself. After getting settled I went to the bathroom and went up to the cockpit and talked with the pilots. They were very friendly. I then went back to my seat and settled in for take off. While we were taxing I noticed an Air Wisconsin BAE 146. That was a strange sight at Dulles to me. But I heard that Air Wis is expanding their dulles service, with ACA going independant. I also got to see an airfraonce concorde. We took off right on time. After take off they started the movie. It was anger management. About thirty minutes into it, there was an error with the screens, durring the safety briefing there was the same problem, so the f/as had to do it manually. So they started it over. We were then served breakfast which consisted of an egg, cheese, and ham croissant sandwich, a pastry, and an orange juice. It was suprisingly good for airline food, then again united always does do good with their food. After the movie I got up and walked around. We began to pass some high clouds after passing the rockies. Then we began down into LA. There were the typicall late august monsoon storms. We passed some interesting traffic too along the way. One of which was an ATA 752. As we touched down, a delta 757 was simultaneously taking off next to us. I then deplaned and got lunch and walked around. Overall the flight was superb. The crew was super friendly and the flight was super comfortable. The tail number was N667UA and the flight number was 897. And the flight time was 4 hours and 45 minutes.

Its nice to see the Concorde on land instead of a barge! lol

After looking around I went to the newly reconstructed United Express (brasalia only) terminal. It was very large and nice. The tvs were playing I love lucy. Lol. My layover was two hours and I sat and read magazines and talked with the ground staff, who were so nice. When we boarded, I was hoping for a brasalia painted in the silver skywest colors and I got it. It was nice, and we had a very energetic flight attendant. He was the typical gay flight attendant though. Rather annoying and weird at times. I dont have anything wrong with gays, they just can be annoying at times on the plane. I got to sit in the seat that was an aisle and window. I love those. They are great. After takeoff, we flew over the palos verdes peninsula. It was quite a site on such a clear day. The flight was only 18 minutes so there was no time for a bvg service. I wanted to go to the back and take pictures of the galley and lav. but ran out of time. We then started our approach and made our turn east to then turn around and land on runway 24. The pilot gave us full flaps for landing, which I love. We landed ten minutes early. My bags were the first to come out. And I then left. I was pretty sad to think that it was all over, but I knew that id be back up again. That was my thirteenth time to Jacksonville since 1994 or 95. I love it there. The tail number was N579SW and the flight number was 6034.
