During September we decided to make a trip to the US, first going to NY, then to Miami and finally, back home, so here it goes...
I arrived EZE three hours before the scheduled departure. I was travelling with my brother, my mom and my cousin. We did a rather-long check in but finally we took our boarding pass for the flight 956 EZE-JFK...
September 1st
American Airlines Flight 956 EZE-JFK
Departure:20:20 10:11hr flight.
Plane: B767-300/ER
Well, we enter the plane exactly at 20:00 ( expected boarding time ), at 20:20, when everybody expected the pushback, the captain told us that we have to disembark and pass again through the computers because there was a security problem...
After an hour of qeue, we were checked again and we were again in the
boarding lounge... The crew told us that we will have to "wait"... after an hour of waiting a mysterious voice spoke trough the speakers saying "Seņoras y seņores American Airlines anuncia que el vuelo 956 con destino a la ciudad de Nueva York ha sido cancelado...." "Ladies and Gentlemen American Airlines anounces that the flight 956 to New York has been cancelled..." suddenly a very loud and in chorus scream like " OH NOOOOOOO" could be heard... We had to go to AA office and they told us that the flight would depart the day after at 11:30AM, and that they would pay us an hotel in the downtown... YES, we were leaving the airport heading to THE DOWNTOWN of Buenos Aires city...
The next day a van took us to the airport, we made the check-in again, and we board the plane at 11:50, the plane departed 12:25, it was a long flight during the day so we had not got a chance to sleep...
The plane was a B763 and the IFE consisted on a TV by 5 or 7 rows that showed a movie and americans sitcoms. The F/As were not nice rather-rude but it was a very peaceful flight without any turbulence and the meal was fine, it consisted of meat with rice, some potato salad and a small chocolate pudding. During the aproach to JFK we were in very poor weather conditions, we were descending and it looked as if WE were a big cloud... finally we get out of the cloud and NY skyline could be seen and in 3 minutes we had a smooth and very pleasant landing, we taxied during 15 minutes plus 10 minutes we had to wait for an IB plane to take the gate.
Conclusion:
