  • Delta's 757s

Hi all- flying PHX_JFK_Regan and back this coming week, and am flying on Delta 757 & MD*88. Tried to look for some nice cabin shots, but some of the cabins looked pretty grimy... Anybody flown on these a/c w/ Delta recently?

    THx.

Last ones I were on was in August. The 757 I was on (N690DL) has to have the oldest looking interior I've seen on a 757 (although I think it may be second-hand)...a lot of the 757s are in really good shape- you should have a good ride. This 757 looked kinda yellow on the inside.

As for the MD-88, it's a pretty cramped feeling airplane, even if you're short (5'5" here), although it's OK for what it's worth. I like the 2-3 configuration they have.

I was on N998DL, an MD-88 last month from MSP-ATL which is about a 2-2:30 hour flight. It could use a little sprucing up but I thought the seats and the legroom was great. I was really comfy the whole flight. I love Delta's MD-88's. Sorry I haven't been on a 757 in a long time so I don't remember it to well.

I have never flown the 757 with Delta, but I have been on the 757-200 on ATA and I liked the plane, it is actually pretty comfortable, and very long.

Last time I flew on a DL MD-88, it was on a full ATL-CHS leg. The aircraft was in very poor condition. The tray table only attached on one end, and the seats were loosing their covering and caving in. The overhead bin wouldn't stop rattling, either. I couldn't wait to get off that plane! I have had some great experiences on 757s. I really like the Delta interiors with the headrests. The last 757 I flew on was also on the ATL-CHS leg (It was the Soaring Spirit!!!!). Although somewhat lacking in legroom, these planes are great to fly on!

FlyCharlestonSC- thank you for that...comforting Mickey-D report!

I'm pretty spoiled from my last flight- British Airways 777- so I don't think I'll enjoy this one AS MUCH, but I'll let ya'll know how it goes.

I last flew on a DL 752 SEA-ATL last month. This was my first time on a DL 752. Horrible flight. It wasn't the airline it was the plane. Little leg room, no airconditioning, and worst of all they assigned me to the row with no window! Kinda scary cause you can't see when you land and stuff. Make sure that doesn't happen to you. I really hope all DL 752s aren't like this.

When I connected in ATL my flight to TPA was dowgraded from a 763 to a Md88. Although I wanted to fly the 763, the flight actually wasn't bad. The air conditoning worked great (lol) and the seats felt comfier (is that a word?). Also the Md88 seemed more roomy.

It really depends on which 757 you get. If you get one in the NNC livery the interior will should be nice, relatively clean. If you get a Widget or NOC livery the interior will might be soso to poor. This is becuase they redo the interiors as they do the heavy maintenace on the aircraft and they usually paint them at this point too. Over the summer I was on a widget 763 and the interior sucked. However 2 summers ago I was on a NNC 763 and the interior was nice and "updated". So it just depends on which 757 you get.

It's been almost 4 years since I've flown on one of Delta's 757s, but the two flighs on them were like night and day. The first time was on a BOS-ATL flight, and my seat in coach had some harsh seat pitch, I had to contort myself in order to stretch out. It was one of the first 757s in the Deltaflot scheme, and the interiors did look better. The second time was on a DCA-ATL flight, sat in the first row of coach, which had pretty decent legroom even with the bulkhead. The interior was looking a bit ragged, but not too badly. Only 4 of DL 757s came from another operator (N750AT, N751AT, N752AT, and N757AT are all ex-ATA birds. ATA sold off their P&W powered 757s in favor of RB-211 (which also power their L-1011s) powered 757s).

That's true, because the 757 I was in the Deltaflot colors, whilst the nicer Md88 was in new colors.

                        That's horrible NWA_A330....

I kinda figured Airbus_A320- I think the one I've seen fly in to PHX is in the new scheme, so I'm hoping it's been refitted.

                        Thanks everbody!

I've heard about this row before. What row is it? We're flying a DL 757 ATL-NAS in a couple of weeks and i'd like to know which row to avoid choosing.

I was assigned to the row with no window on an F100 once! So wierd! When the plane turns, you find your face pushed up against the wall listening to the engine. I really hated it!
