Okay everybody- made it back alive after a near crash
(hit severe wake turbulence while over the runway and flipped our right wing up- pilot corrected hard, and was so bad we had to go around- I seriously thought we were going to have a wing-strike. My first wake turbulence experience!), and since I don't have the time to write a quality, complete flight review, I'm just going to do this.
Here's how I flew:
PHX_JFK on 752
JFK_DCA on M88
DCA_JFK on M88
JFK_PHX on 752
I'm not a 757 fan, but they were all right. They had the new interriors and bins and all, so the interrior was pretty clean and nice. I had enough legroom (until this lady in front of me and her two screaming children reclined for the entire flight back to PHX- but I guess if I had two kids I'd be tired too), and drink service came around three times (
) going to JFK, and twice coming back. The flight attendants were acceptable, but one was great (like the perfect f/a- completely passionate about her job, interacting w/ pax, gives you the can, etc.) on each 757 flight.
The M88s connecting to DCA were also nice. I had more legroom on the M88s than on the 757s. I was surprised at how quiet they were (I was in the middle- I know, not next to the engine, but still)- I was expecting a loud flight from hearing everybody always complaining about them, but it was nice. JFK_DCA was a less than perfect landing, but I'd be wanting to set her down instead of overrunning into the Potomac, so I don't blame him, and the DCA_JFK landing was sweet considdering those wheels don't have that much hydraulic cylinders or whatever they're called to absorb the shock.
Overall I was happy with service and aircraft. I liked the M88s the best!- legroom is savored when you're 6'3"!
