  • Eads' Casa wins 270 mln eur order for 12 C-295 planes from Portugese Air Force

PARIS (AFX) - The European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS) said
its Casa unit has signed an order to supply twelve of its C-295 twin propeller
airplanes to the Portuguese Air Force, a deal valued at about 270 mln eur.
The contract was signed today at Portugal's Sintra Air Base, in the presence
of Portugal's Defence Minister Luis Amado and Francisco Fernandex Sainz, chief
    executive of EADS Casa.
Seven of the aircraft will be used for military transport, and five will be
equipped for maritime surveillance missions. EADS Casa will also provide support
for the planes for at least five years.
