  • Tail Gunners Rule.......

My buddy sent me this pic which I will share with you - I have no idea who can claim the rights to this pic, but what the hell.

    test your knowledge:
    name the aircraft
    name the "gunner"

    Not common, hahaha

The aircraft is a Douglas A26 Invader, last throughful development of a family of late 30's & WWII mid size bombers counting the DB 7 and Havoc (Boston in RAF parlance)
The Invader was in fact an attack and tactical bomber, hence A designator.
Crew was 1 pilot + 1 copilot and the target aimer whose position is "filled" by our smart exebitor ....

Very funny. But somehow I think I have seen this before. That's probaby the whitest "but" I have ever seen. If only it wasnt that white, lol, I wouldnt have noticed it.

Btw, Thanks to Alain, I was figuring out about what bomber this one was. Glad you posted some info about it.

ummm...unless every plane I've ever seen was flying backwards, I dont think that's the tail...unless you're talking about the gunner's tail.

EXACTLY, I wonder if the old Credence Clearwater Revival song "Bad Moon Rising" would be blasting through the crew's headphones !!!!!!
