  • Georgian UAV Films It's Own Destruction by Russian Fighter

The following link is an amazing video of the Georgian UAV that was recently shot down.

The Russians denied they had anything to do with it.
The Abkhazians indicated they had shot it down with anti-aircraft fire.

The video clearly shows a Mig-29 pulling up on it's tail and firing an air-to-air missile. (AA-12 Adder?) In any event, the video shows the full launch, catches the missile tracking towards it, up to the moment the screen goes blank. Good thing it was a UAV. It would have been a helpless feeling to have been a pilot in a manned aircraft.

Russian authorities have said that Abkhaz rebels shot down an unmanned Georgian spy plane over the breakaway region of Abkhazia.

The Russian foreign ministry also said the flight breached a 1994 peace accord which ended fighting in the province.

Georgia insists a Russian plane shot down the drone on Sunday, calling it an act of "open aggression".

The country's defence ministry has released footage showing what seems to be a Russian MiG-29 shooting the drone.

The video, shot from the drone moments before impact, shows a jet launching a missile over what appears to be the Black Sea. More here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/7360864.stm
