  • Callsign Queen?

I was listening to Newfoundland's Low Domestic Frequency this morning and I heard a number of aircraft, having the call sign Queen (Queen 03 etc), cleared on approach to Goose Bay (CYYR). The pilots had North American accents and identified their aircraft as heavy. I have Googled the call sign and checked "The Guide's Internet Callsign List" but to no avail. Anyone have any idea what unit's aircraft fly with the call sign 'Queen'. Obviously not a fighter unit judging by the heavy designation.

    Cheers

      Thanks

Thanks for the reply, I don't think it was an Elgin HC-130 however, 'cause I don't think a Herc can qualify for the heavy designation.

      cheers

Maybe it was a Beechcraft Queen Air flown by someone with a sense of humor.

You need one to fly a Queen Air.
