P-3 Orion intercepted by F-16s

An U.S. P-3 Orion was intercepted by two venezuelan F-16s and invited to fly back to Dutch airspace.

Sounds like an overexcited reporter. Headline states a US jet entered Venezuelan airspace then they tell us it was a P-3. Last time i checked the P3 had 4 props.

The reporter was probably incorrect about there being a US jet involved, however, the US does operate EP-3's which are elint aircraft - a derivative of the P-3 Orion airframe, so it is plausible that this was the aircraft spotted. As to whether it was within anybody's territorial waters depends which side you believe.
