Hey everybody, does anyone have pets that either died or had to be euthenized? Yesterday we had to euthenize my dog. He's a golden retriever, and he's been in our family for 16 years. He had a good long life, but this is really hard for my family to deal with. What did you do when you lost a pet?
Hey, sorry if this is a downer topic.
Sorry to hear that. I had a little German Shepherd myself when I was around 10 years old...
He got poisened by a neighbor at the age of seven months . I was completely down at that time, but to be honest I also felt hatred for that ******* ***** .
Mimoz, a German Shepherd eutanized age 17
Rebecca, a black long haired dash-hund (teckel) age 12
Gina, a cross-over from a sherperd and a colley, age 3 or 4, was myself 6 them, wept a lot, was poisoned

I've had several over the years. They're never easy. The hardest one was actually my parent's Basset. We were visiting with my then 2-year old son on Memorial Day and noticed blood coming through his skin on his belly. We took him to the veterinary hospital, and were told that it looked like cancer. My dad was so upset he couldn't talk and signed to my wife and I what he wanted. I stayed with him so that there was someone he knew and loved with him until the end.
I used to have fish. My firend came home from school with me one day and was trying to turn on the light. Instead, he turned up the heater...without me noticing it. The next morning, the fish were no longer living.
Once, when i was 4 or 5 years old my dad got me fishes (this was back in Pakistan) then i put it into a tub for just a few min. until i could get the tank running. I was curious at that time so i decided to poke a hole in the tub and see what happens to the fish. The fish came out along with the water. i tried to get them back into the water. But it was too late, the fishes had already died.
Yep...I lost two dogs this past year. One golden and one dauchsaund. Both were great companions.
I'm sorry to hear about your loss.

It really sucks when pets die. My dog was 16 when she passed away this past October, and I miss the hell out of her. It's just not the same without a dog around. Sorry for your loss, truly sad.
I feel for you that have lost pets. When I was 6 our cat was poisoned by this little S.O.B. from down the street, it was disturbing seeing how my cat died. Needless to say, that kid got his A$$ beat the next day!
We now have a cat that is 12, he is so important to our family, I pray for more years of life for him (seriously)!

We had goldfish and there was a power outage and in that short time that the filter was out the sh!t built up so much that it really had to be cleaned. So a few days after my mom went to clean the tank and it cracked so we put the fish in little plastic containers and by they end of the day they were dead. We buried them in the back yard but by the next day something had already dug them up. So so much for that.
My pet fish Matt died over the summer. We gave him a proper buriel in the back yard. :P

I have had 2 fish of mine die over the years. Bedford was my first fish I kept entirely by myself. He lived to be 1.1 years old. He was a great fish. My second fish's name was Jack. He was a brown goldfish when he was a baby but when he "grew up" he turned golden and died at a ripe old age of 2.
I was actually a little sad when they died.. I buried them back in the yard and even gave then little wooden headstones.
