  • getting bald.

Yup. I am almost 19 and my part is already widening and hairline has receded by an inch over the year. I started noticing my receding hairline since I was 18.

Odd thing is that my dad is 50 and it is only in the last 2-3 years that his hair are starting to fall but when he was my age, he had a lot more hair than I do. And neither was my mom's dad bald nor is my father's dad bald.

Even though I have no regrets about my hair loss, I just want to know that how common is it for people my age to start losing hair?

I have about the worst hair genes out there, so i feel your pain. I'm 21 and just started to notice the "recession" of hair away from my beautiful face, as tragic as it may seem. Hey, ive been going grey since i was 15....i'm used to this kinda stuff!

I smoke, but the grey is definitely genetic.......my mom's father was bald by age 30, so that's probably genetic as well, who knows.

If you ever find yourself going almost completely bald, there's always Rogaine for men

                  bummer ....

but lose the hair gracefully ... any woman that gives a shit about natural hair loss isn't worth having around anyway ... and the only people that win when men fight the hair loss are the companies ripping you off... fake hair looks like fake hair .. no matter how much you pay.

                    ADG,

Nah, I don't care about hair falling out. It is natural, so there is nothing to be done about it except for moving on. You are right though, there is no point in trying to conceal one's baldness and any lady who thinks that hair are must, can be left alone.

I am not into rogaine and all other accessories since I don't want any side effect nor am I interested in them.

A point of yours I will note is that hair loss should be done gracefully. No point of having big hair and a large forehead. Would rather have very short hair so even the creeping baldness wouldn't look bad.

My hair was going away at a pretty good clip (pun intended)...so I just went ahead with the tactical retreat and tried the shaved head look.
Besides, my wife dared me to do it.
It is actually much better...very low maintenance...and the chicks dig it. LOL

I have been losing my hair for about 10 years. I had not even noticed it until one of my friends looked at my senior picture (taken 2 and a half years earlier) and noted "Hey you're beginning to lose your hair!" I kinda freaked out at first. I guess I had been in denial, as I really did not equate the hairs on the pillow to me losing my hair. The hair loss is not as bad as it used to be, plus I started keeping it buzzed about 4 years ago, so the hair loss is not as noticeable. I have more hair at my age (2 than my father and my grandfather did at the same age. I once considered getting some generic version of Rogaine, but I didn't feel like forking out $20 a month all in the name of vanity. I
