    You don't need a macro lens. For the ones i posted to used my 70-200 and just made sure I stood far enough away and used the zoom. However with the kit lens with my 300D you can get closer.

      HEY! We let this topic drop off the first page.
      Guess I'll just have to fix that with a few more shots from the yard today.
      Mostly tulips and daffodil's, with one 6-legged surprise thrown in. We have these bugs here, Box Elder Bugs. You'll find them somewhere near Box Elder trees...They zoom around in the spring and fall...don't do anything but get annoying. I took to calling them "racerbugs" because it looks like they have racing stripes. I particularly like how the 300D captured the texture and color of the concrete porch...

        Great shots George!! I think the last one is my favorite.
        I'm headed out to BWI tomorrow.In between arrivals i'll be looking for bugs !!!!
