  • Interstates/major highways/main roads in your metro area

So, what are the Interstates and major roads in your metropolitan area?

Here's the list for Oklahoma City:

    ->I-35 (a.k.a. NAFTA corridor) runs in a north-south direction.
->I-44 (H.E. Bailey Turnpike SW of Oklahoma City; Turner Turnpike NE of Oklahoma City) comes up from Lawton and goes through the city in a SW-NE fashion.
->I-240 is a major highway that branches off from I-40. Runs from E-W and goes through the southern part of Oklahoma City, then merges with I-44.
->The Northwest Expressway runs from the central part of the city to the NW.
->I-235 goes N-S and is also called the Broadway Extension.
->U.S. 77 goes through Norman, then merges with I-35 and finally branches off from the interstate near Guthrie, north of Oklahoma City.
-> State highway 9 runs roughly E-W through south Norman and intersects I-35.
-> And of course, Route 66, which goes through the central part of the metro and is the Main Street of Yukon, a suburb just west of Oklahoma City.

    Happy Flying!

I-26 is like the main highway.

I-95 is an hour away on Highway 17 or I-26

                I-526 is like the beltway

Highway 17 takes you south to Savannah and I-95 and north to Myrtle Beach

I-285 runs around Atlanta.... Connected to it:
                  I-85
                  I-20
                  I-75.

Hwy. 316 is right near my house. It's a beast, plain and simple. It merges onto 85 and that is pure hell. We've cut off many a Toyota or Mazda trying to merge. We also almost got hit by a tire flying off an 18 wheeler when we were headed to the airport... And just the other day I nearly got caught doing 95.

                  Ahh the intersatate.

Well i live in the ATL so northerner2121 basically sumed it up.

Do you know that 1 in every (either 4 or 7) miles of highway is straight!

                    Why?
Whatever is necessary, is never unwise.
