  • How I got screwed by jetphotos (not really)

So today, I got very lucky. The newly painted Trump-Vance 737 campaign plane had to divert to Madison coincidentally while I was working on the ramp. This allowed for me to get a pretty cool view of it! Of course, as one does, I brought my camera out and took some pictures of it to upload it on jetphotos and save for my personal collection.

As soon as I could, I got them on my phone, edited and submitted them for editing. Elapsed time from Landing to photos ~10 minutes. I knew there would be intense competition for the hot photo and I had to get it up quickly.

Here's where the story starts to turn. My photo immediately goes into screening which is great! It means it will be up quick. Unfortunately, I get stuck in between when the European and American screeners trade off. I thought that it's ok because my photo is the first one uploaded so it would be the first one screened - right?!

Unfortunately not. A couple of well respected spotters in Milwaukee some how get their photo - taken and uploaded after mine - on the database first. Normally, I would understand as they generally will have higher quality photos than me.

However, when I check back an hour later, my photo that was supposed to be in screening has disappeared. I thought it was weird so I uploaded again, same thing, Same problem.

TLDR-I just want jetphotos to either accept or reject a hot photo so I can upload an improved version and get on the database. Instead my photos just disappear. All respect to screeners and what they do. I just want a reason. Could it be in review and I just can't see the photo in my submissions?

Thanks to AJ Riccobono for all the help

So I looked into it, and what actually happened was:

    - You uploaded the image with bad info.
    - Because of the bad info it went into review instead of being screened immediately.
    - Two other images were uploaded with correct info, and were accepted.
    - You got impatient for whatever reason and uploaded another attempt.
    - Since you had two identical images in the queue, both were rejected for double - as has been the policy since 2018.

Your photo never disappeared, it was always in the queue awaiting final review of the info. Next time 1) double check info before uploading a hot image, and 2) don't get too impatient

What I said is that I could not see the images in my queue. Not that they were in screening. Could be an error with the website on my end od your end. I am quite familiar with the double upload rule which is why I only upload the second time when I could no longer see my first photo in the queue. I was trying to be extra careful with this and do apologize for any inconvenience it caused. I also attempted to change the information as soon as I got wind that the airline was wrong. So no more bad info is what I thought. Unfortunately the previous image that was still invisible in my end caused the double upload rejection. I would upload a picture of my empty queue but the upload doesn't work on the forums. Good day and thanks for the feedback.
