My (bad) pictures

I was walking around downtown on the battery today, and I decided to bring my camera to try out photography. My dad is very good and gave me some pointers.
I'm just beginning. Am I hopeless?
Any suggestions?

(Sorry--I couldn't really figure out how to make them smaller. Not really too much software on this computer!)

Looking from High Battery. The two towers are the towers of the Cooper River Bridge. It's the largest bridge under construction in this hemisphere.

You arent totally hopeless,

All you need is a basic editing program, but a bit more advanced than Microsoft paint.

By resizing to a more suitable size, it removes a lot of the noise,

By just resizing your pics can look like this.


With just a bit more editing i turned one of your pics into this

Yeah...we have photoshop on another computer. I'm gonna get my dad to help me fiddle around with them.
I like what you did to the first one, but no offense--i can't really tell a difference with the second one.

Hey good job! I really like them. I am also biased because I am in love with the old south. I cant wait to move there. You just need to resize them and get more straight on shots.

I played around with the colours a bit and sharpened it.

Ran it through NeatImage to get rid of the noise in the sky, then resized it.

I think they look good! I use Netscape 7.1, so the pictures automatically resize themselves with little or no distortion. I think that one that you like the best is the best also; looks great!

Also liked your airliner pics from LGA-- you should upload them for screening into the database.

Yes, with a bit of editing alot can be done. I took the liberty of doing a quickie (I took only about 3 min.) edit for one of your pictures:

The only thing wrong with the pictures you took is the fact that the reflection of the terminal window can be seen in some pictures, such as the one above.
