If Pakistan and India were to go on war, I think USA would launch offensive against Pakistan because India is important to USA economically. Besides, China is also developing good relationships with India so the fact that China might support Pakistan is not valid.
I think USA after Iraq will go after Pakistan or Iran. What do you guys think?

I doubt we would attack Pakistan. Thoguh we might not be particularly popular with all of the people in Pakistan, their government has been helping us root out some terrorists in the past few years. Even if for whatever reason we had to, we would be stretched too thin being in Iraq, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Being one of the nations with the most people, I think that if India felt the need to go into Pakistan, I think they'd do just fine.
I think everyone is basing their theories on the big assumption that the U.S. would become involved at all, let alone which side they'd support in battle...
Whilst the U.S. gets involved in a lot of conflicts, for the best and sometimes not, I think history has shown us that the U.S. also keeps out of a lot of conflicts.
I would assume the U.S. would take a diplomatic mediation stance in such a confrontation between India and Pakistan. Both countries are very important to the U.S., just in different ways.
I think that the USA would not go to war with Pakistan because PK has been helping out the US with fighting against the war or terror and things of that nature. If PK and AI does go to war with each other then i think the USA might step in and try to stop the war. Keep in mind both PK and AI have nuclear weapons.
whatever you guys think is your opinion, but I am from Pakistan and I think I would know more about relationship between Pak. and USA.
They are very good currently but we do have a Islamic political party which controls half of the country, the area bordering Afghanistan and Iran. And there is a lobby in USA trying to pressurize the US Govt. to take a hard stance on Pakistan.
Right now, the relationship between India and Pak. are also good but they have always failed to sustain. And by US, I don't mean US only, I mean the whole coalition of righteous nations. I think they would some time down the road make a case out of Pakistan for supporting terrrorism in India and they could make a case out of Pakistan for supporting Taliban, Al Qaeda and Iranian hardliners if they were to be toppled.
So, you see, as in the past, Pakistan and the West relationships are at the best neutral only during times when both countries feel a need for eachother but other than that, the relationship is usually on the weak side.
Besides, US and Saudi relationships at times also seem to be hanging by a few threads, what makes you so sure that US won't invade or go on war with Saudi in the future? Right now, yeah fine they are good friends but weren't Iraq and US good friends too at some time?
