    Possibly.

    I know its recognised in
    NZ
    Britain
    Australia.

My guess is it will be recognised in a lot of Commonwealth countries as its a British program.

lol, i have no idea, but i'm really curious.
Its an internationally recognised youth program. Its meant to challenge yourself in a non competitive way. In the expididtions you have to organise everything yourself, what food, who takes what, where you go etc. Recognised in about 70 different countries I think.

Duke Of Edinburoughs award is set into three parts,
    Bronze
    Silver
    Gold

IN each of them you have to meet certain requirements. In all of them you have to do a practice expidition, real expidition. Usually the only difference is that on the practice one you make mistakes.

You also have to do a certain amount of community service, Work on skills and be able to prove you can do what you say you can do, plus there is also a physical challenge you have to be able to do.

It takes about 6 months to complete the Bronze,
12 months to complete the Silver,
18 months to complete the Gold.

started a topic DofE Bronze practice expidition.

    DofE Bronze practice expidition.

On the 12-13 of june I completed my Bronze practice expedition.

    Left to right,
Jarad, Myself, Toni, Oliver and Chris

Started off near Gebbies pass. Tramped for about 4 hours, got lost once.
After setting up the tents we had a lot of cloud allowing me to get this shot.

Day 2 started with climbing Mount Bradley. Allowing a nice view of all we tramped on Day 1.

We started to the right of the red and white radio mast. Tramped through the forest. Ended up at the hut.

While climbing we had a nice view of Kaituna Valley (I believe).

At the top of the mountain I got this shot (unlevel, lens flare but hey)

We took ages to find our way off the mountain because we almost got stuck after we tried to climb down a rock face.

We tramped to Mt Herbert Shelter.

We walked down the mountain, which took ages and then cought the ferry across the harbour.
    (1/20th exposure)

Total distance was 24.5km (15.3 miles) which took about 10 hours total.
Working...
