Apparently they're doing some maintenance on the power system of the building where the server is based (in Sweden). We'll probably see a flood of A.netters checking out this "rival" forum.

Not unless we want this place to become another Airwhiners.net

Anyway, I myself am an airliners.net refugee - but I came here during the "meltdown" of the a.net non-aviation forum. I like this place, I like a.net and I have received my share of bashing for saying just that.

It looks different than it's called.

What was the non-aviation forum meltdown you refer to?

I read only the commercial aviation and flight review forums.

Why, in May 2003, the non_av forum first became "FirstClass only", and was then closed completely due to the lots of trouble in it. Some users left due to this, some got kicked out (can you say "Adam"? ) because they opposed the move rather openly, and some tried to convince the admin to open it up again. 'twas quite a rush, but we got what we wanted in the end.

Jetphotos.net has yet to live through something like this, I can honestly say that it made a.net feel much more like a community - people who had previously beaten the crap out of each other were suddenly joining efforts and pledging change in order to bring the forum back. Old-timer speaking here!

                          Hmmm...

I know some people here that could use something like that to unite them, but it aint worth it.

Anyone know when it will be back up?

I was kinda wondering what the shortest regonal jet flight originating in Mogadishu, Somalia was. I figured they would have a thread about that.
