I'm leaving tomorrow for a monthlong vacation to the Middle East (Egypt, Israel, and hopefully Saudi Arabia). I'm a little nervous about being an American over there for an extended period of time, but this was a once in a lifetime chance. I'll see if I can get to a computer when I get over there, but if I can't, then I'll talk to you all again in August. Behave!

Be careful over in Saudi Arabia recent events have shown it in not safe for any non-muslim to be in the country. Stay safe and most importantly have fun.Comment

I'm travelling the entire month of August, which has also been a once in a lifetime choice. I'm going to Costa Rica, Panama, Venezuela and Brazil.

You have a safe trip too, and take many, many photos to share with us when you get back. Sounds like a good trip in Central/South America.

Relish on the Egyptian part, especially if you are up to a cruise along the Nile on board a small sized river boat
Too bad you did not get time and enough money to include the UAE and particularly Dubai together with Oman.

Enjoy your travels. I wish I could be in the Middle East right now saving my money but instead im on a 4 month western pacific cruise which EVERY port we stop at are EXPENSIVE ports. Normally on a Mediterranean cruise, a big port city for the Navy is Bahrain, Dubai, and Jebel Ali, United Arab Emirates. But for you, an american civilian, be careful around your surrounding and have fun. Are you going with your parents? by yourself? friend? group? Just follow their rules and you'll be ok. Stay safe and again, have fun.
