  • Anybody out there who doesn't like football?

I just wondered, am I one of only a few who don't like football (soccer)? Are there more of you who will be glad when the European Champions League will be over and done with? The Dutch team wast just kicked out by the Portuguese team (congratulations, well done and thank you !!). Lots of good tv and radio programs suspended -just for a dull game of football, newsprograms that skip real news items -just for football, newspapers with page after page with foreground and background stories on football matches and players, analysis of football matches, comments on football matches by everybody who thinks he has something sensible to say about a football match, press conferences by football coaches.... shall I go on?
I'm glad it's nearly over now.

Then, in a few days, the Tour de France will start.... I just wonder, am I.......?

I like soccer, but I agree about the media overhyping it... no need for that.

Never have been too interested in soccer...then again I can't say that I've ever paid much attention. Definitely takes athletic ability though.

I Ice Hockey, little scoring, but for the most part fast paced and what not, and when a goal does come, it kicks A**

We dont have the problem of the media overhyping soccer in the USA, but I like soccer. I dont like watching it, but the sport is not bad.

NHL has plenty of action to go around. It's truly a real man's sport

Will, I think that is somewhat just a matter of exposure. Most soccer games aren't carried on TV here the way that they are overseas...I don't think I even saw a soccer game on TV here until the early 1980's...but I was watching US-style football since I was about six. If I had watched it growing up the story might've been different. Just my opinion.
