I used a tripod, "bulb" shutter speed (you can leave the shutter open as long as you want with out any particular setting), ISO200, f/18 for most and shot in RAW mode. And also the RS-60E3 remote cable you need a remote cable to eliminate the camera shake and leave the shutter open for about 4 secs using the bulb feature...

I think i pissed off some ppl too when i was looking for an adequite spot to set up the tripod/camera Then some bitch had to light up a cig next to me and all the smoke blew towards me

        Great shots

We've got an awesome 7hr. airshow and fireworks display the Saturday before the KY Derby called Thunder Over Louisville. That'd be quite an attraction for an avid photographer. Although, you'd have to be pretty far away to get all of the fireworks platforms in one shot - they have them set up along with Howitzers on a bridge that spans the Ohio River, along with barges on both sides of the bridge launching simultaneous displays lasting for half an hour. It's quite a spectacle!

Yeh it was with the 300D! What you do is go into M mode and set the aperture to F/18 and the shutter speed to "bulb" and then look through the view finder to try to line them up properly... then when the shell explodes open the shutter for about 4 secs using the switch on the remote.

Also get the RS-60E3 remote cable.

Nice shots Paul. I'll be doing the same on the 14th here. I plan on using bulb and a matte peice of cardboard to get a long exposure of several bursts and the surrounding scenery.

                          what's the cardboard for?
"The Director also sets the record straight on what would happen if oxygen masks were to drop from the ceiling: The passengers freak out with abandon, instead of continuing to chat amiably, as though lunch were being served, like they do on those in-flight safety videos."

That airshow was on TV for a few hours over here on the 4th. I thought that it was live; I should have known better! Anyways, it looked great. The local news station covering it had cameras from almost every angle, including from the cockpit of an F-14 during its demo. It might be a good one to go visit next year!
