Seriously guys, forget London it is far too expensive. One of the great things about living here is that everywhere else in the world is cheaper.
Luton is no good unless you want to shoot easyJet all day or bizjets all day. Stansted is terrible for spotters-the most anti-spotter airport in the UK I would say. LCY is a part time airport and there are no decent spots, LGW is great if you like 737s and the Euro-charter market but again it has few good spots and 0 good photo spots unless they are using 08 runway.
LHR is where it is all at, traffic from all over the world and variety like no other airport I know. The WX is very unpredictable though, at any time of year it could be warm and sunny or wet and cold.

forget LHR from an Australian POV, we get 35pence for a dollar and if the bigmac meal costs 4 quid thats almost $12 australian, i been to london and the first thing i did was get on a plane back out! far far to $$$$
Tokyo is not as bad as claimed, food is cheap as is accomodation at the airport hotels.
another good one that i am suprised has not been mentioned is Frankfurt, plenty of traffic and a good variety too!
i think a destination from each continent is a good way to narrow it down, with the exception of the USA.
so how about this
Nrth America-Vancouver, which i will sus out in dec
Sth America- i am not really inclined to go there, traffic is pretty boring
Asia-Tokyo Narita, Haneda, Kansai and Itami
Europe-Frankfurt
Oceania-Sydney
next trips
USA/DXB August.

How about Bagdad
Seriously, the only airport i havent seen mentioned much is Bombay, India, Pete could give us a tour and I know he would love to go there as a jp.net meetup.
Also, would a place in Russia be good?
We should meet in the bahamas, as its central between eruope and N.America.
Some mentioned Frankfurt, I think Germany would be a wonderufl place to visit, belgium or Munich are good places to visit, or hell even Spain!!

Indeed, Germany is a nice place.
However, I heard the FRA observation deck is shutting down soon?

They said no US,but ANC is good. what about Rio?I think they have interesting traffic.
How does an airline thats going bankrupt sign new regional carriers, launch a discount airline, purchase new planes, AND repaint their fleet? I dunno, ask United.

the best advantage of anchorage, there is at times 20 hours of daylight in alaska!!! So u could shoot like everything that comes in there if u come in the right time of the year!
