I cant just go out to LAX whenever I want! I only fly for free when my dad flys with me, so it would have to be around his schedual. And Im only 14, I cant drive down there and rent a hotel!

How does an airline thats going bankrupt sign new regional carriers, launch a discount airline, purchase new planes, AND repaint their fleet? I dunno, ask United.

I agree with Chasen SFO. I am fifteen, and I live in Alaska, which by the way is really expensive to fly in and out of. If you can do one anywhere in the continental USA would be great.

HOLY CRAP, THIS IS NOT WHINE FEST.

You dont always get what you want, so deal with it.

I only fly for free when my dad flys with me, so it would have to be around his schedual
Let me tell you about something, its called paying, how most people get a ticket. Why do you have to be with your dad? Why cant you just save up some money and pay yourself.

Im 14, Im going to Japan later this year, have planned two trips to AKL within the next year and a bit, and possibly one to SYD if the meet is there.

Heres the main point, I am paying for all but the Japan trip which my parents are helping pay for because its effectivly for school.

Sounds like you could make a meet in Sacramento then . You need to realise that the fact that you fly for free is a privelidge that nearly all of us do not enjoy-be grateful for that instead of being so negative. We are not talking about next week or next month but next year, 12 months away in fact. 0.5% of the forum membership turned up at LAX, so even if 99% of people don't turn up at the next meet it would still be twice as good as the last one.

First, the final plans for the LAX meet was proposed well over a month in advance.

For this meet, we have begun organizing 1 YEAR! in advance.

That's a lot of time to get a job and earn some money on your own.

I work at Tim Horton's and bought myself a 300D + 75-300 for my 16th birthday. Now I'm saving towards this next trip.

I'm sorry, but we are not going to have another meet in the USA just because you can't get a free ticket to SYD.

Get a job. Get a life. And stop whining!

The official meeting spot for 2005 is SYD, that's a done deal.

For those who cannot afford SYD, we can always arrange another US meet.

Crazy764, good for you working toward a goal.

Well, just to make things clear.
My harsh words were not directed at everyone who objected against SYD.

So who else wants to volunteer to be inside the Organisation Committee??

                    So far there is:

                    Myself
                    Kevin Cadd

Again to kill off any suspicions the FINAL decision on where the meet is going to be HAS NOT been decided (If SYD was a done deal PortColumbus why is it MIA has the most votes so far????), it is down to ALL of you to come up with where YOU think the meet should be following the following guidelines on what you should include:

Your suggestion needs to be supported with its Pro's and Cons, the spots that will be ideal to visit, the traffic and also what else there is to do at the destination. Maybe some airfares from some of the most popular airports most jp.net members can get to in their home airport I.E, LHR, SYD, MAN, ORD, LAX, JFK, ATL, CDG, MAD, FRA to mention a few... Once the key detinations have been written about in a post they will all go into a brand new post where the best locations of the meet can be polled on. The elimination of alot of the destinations can be done by the organisation committee and the strongest contenders go through to the poll.

I volunteer because I was at LAX. I am from the U.S. I am younger. I have enough money to make it happen.

                      • Ok so the Organisation Committee consists of so far:

                        Myself
                        Kevin Cadd
                        Greg Dewey

All we need now is 1 more jp.net crew member and 4 other members who was not present at the LAX meet and also are not jp.net crew.

Im currently thinking of all possible destinations I have on my mind which one will be the best to present to you all following the guidelines i have written up. So come on guys, get your mini presentations posted with where YOU think the meet should be! It does not matter if the same destination is mentioned by more than 1 member that could swing the meet in its favour you never know.

At the end of the day its gonna get polled on so whatever airports are in the top 10 the most popular and best place for the meet will come out top.

So do I have to be on the committee to submit my suggestion of a destination? If not, do I submit in private and let you post it in a new thread?

Sorry about that b777 I should have made that alittle more clearly the answer is basically no. Everybody can post their suggestion as long as it covers most points I have requested. (Post in this topic).

All posts which are formatted that way will be put together and be reviewed individually by the Organisation Committee. And then as mentioned previousley the final shortlist of 10 destinations will be put together in the poll, with all the write ups about that destination in the poll post and then once members have read the post they then can vote on the meets destination hopefully based on what has been written about the meet location.
