Got my first Credit card and checks!

I pretty excited, it makes me feel more powerful More so because its no way connected to my parents, if I fault, i get bad credit rating. Anyone else get excited to when they first go theirs?

Exactly why i am treating them basically as cash, if you dont have cash in your pocket you cant buy something.

I could live without mine, but I really don't like carrying a lot of cash around. The only thing I really use it for are groceries.

I still prefer cash and the use of an EC card. That's all I need.

I can vouch on that immensely! I got a credit card with a $5000 limit, and reached that limit within a few months of getting the card. What made it worse was that I was unemployed at the time I got the card, so I was pretty much having a ball without thinking of the consequences. I tried paying it off as best I could, but soon got overwhelmed. Eventually, I had to have some family members help me pay it off. I had one card since then, used it for a while, then cut it up. I'm strictly a debit card person now.
