  • What do you think about the 1500 posts topic?

    hi everyone.
I'm sure nearly everybody of us has made at least one post in the BIG BIG topic.
What do you think of this topic? (one reply only, please. This topic shouldn't get too much postst )

I think it is fun to chat in. It doesn't make much sense and I won't read evry page, but it is fun. Unfortunatelly I missed the 1500th post.
I'd love to see herpa2003's face when he returns and sees how fast his topic has grown.

Well, I didn't even bother to open the topic. Some might find it "cool", I for one find other topics way more interesting.

It comes as a very welcome break from all the other topics, which are also quite interesting.
"The Director also sets the record straight on what would happen if oxygen masks were to drop from the ceiling: The passengers freak out with abandon, instead of continuing to chat amiably, as though lunch were being served, like they do on those in-flight safety videos."

Holy shit Pete! You need a new hobby. You have more than me stop posting. The post is great to chat with fellow forum members (especially Pete who is always there.) without being hostile. I see its driven Aerpix away though.

It was pretty cool at first. But now it's getting old. No one really says anything. You can just scribble any crap on like "planes are cool" and eventually it will become forgotten in the multitude of other short messages posted. I mean, the topic isn't much of a forum discussion, just a fun little thing where people up their number of posts so that I'VE DROPPED TO SIXTH PLACE FROM FOURTH!!!! Neways, that wasn't the main reason. It's just getting dumb.

No, it has not driven me away, but I do not want to waste my time for such weird posting. And, fellas, the sheer number of posts does not say anything about their quality. So this post is just BS, waste of time, efforts, space and bandwith. It should be deleted, but I guess Chris has other things to do right now.

Anyway, at least I can say that all of my over 800 posts had substantial content, which can't be said about a certain other poster's 700+ posts . No insult on you, Pete, just a fact. I do not get rid of the impression that some of you guys just fled into that post from the reality of Iraqi war, Syria threat, Osama and GWB. Sorry to see that if arguments go out, then such a thread comes as a substitute. It's not fun, but merely a sign of intellectual poverty!!

I hope you will get happy with your thread, I am off there.

                Regards,
                Peter

I think it's a great topic, it sure beats some other topics which seem to get repetitive after a while. And I also found it's a great way to learn more about everyone else, it's kind of like spending an afternoon at the airport chatting with your friends, only without actually being at the airport :P

                    Take care everyone!

So what exactly, Darcy, did you learn about your fella-posters? How to place a smiley icon? Or how to look up the number of posts, and type '1679th'?

I spent yesterday chatting with friends at the airport, and believe my, this post is not anything like having a chat with friends. Or would you chat with your friends by counting the words you say, or by exchanging smileys?

                        Great learning!

I bet you know! Not you, by the way, as I can anyway not remember to have seen any posts of you in other threads where much more brain was required to argue.

                            Hi Peter,

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the other posts, I find lots of those posts very informative, and enjoy reading those as well. But every once in a while change is good, and you'd have to admit that the 1500 post thread was "different" - some people love it, others hate it, everyone has their own opinions on it, and I respect either view.

                              Hi,
I think its pathetic, I hate to get on to the whole airliners.net thing again but you wouldn't find anything like that there, I doubt it anyway.

                              Thanks
