From March 25, 2004 to April 1, 2004 I went with my family to Italy. We had been saving up for this trip for about five years. We went to a local travel agent who got us nonstop tickets from Chicago to Rome on American Airlines. It was on a 767-300 in Coach Class. Immediatly after landing in Rome, we took the EuroStar Italia train to Florence, Italy for 3 nights. We took the EuroStar Italia train back down to Rome, Italy for another 3 nights, in a wonderful hotel. I had my own room here because the hotel messed up our reservation and gave us a tiny room. They gave us a free one and my parents let me stay in it. We went back to FCO airport and flew home. Here are some pictures.

This large globe with the Italy Flags is in Terminal Three at ORD. It is before the H/K Concourse Split and each flag represents a country that is served by a carrier at ORD.

This is the infamous Santa Maria Novella church. The train station, also called Santa Maria Novella is across the street. My family and I have a inside joke- who was a saint, church, and train station? Santa Maria Novella! Florence.

This is just looking down from the hills across the river in Florence. It was so wonderful it's so hard explaning it.

This giant archway graced the city square. It was so amazing- it's just right there in Florence but the residents just think of it as an archway...the tourists (like myself) are just amazed...

Just walking back to our hotel, the Fenice Palace in Florence. Just walking down the street taking in all the archetecture.

The Lobby of the wonderful hotel we stayed at while in Rome, the Hotel Mecenate Palace. The staff here was wonderful.

Here is is. The Saint Peters Basilica. It was so amazing. And so rainy.
I love this picture- this was taken from my hotel room in Rome. It was about 22:30 and it was dark out and pouring rain and windy. I opened the shutters of my hotel room and saw this amazing site...it was so great.
I wish I could do something like this again...but it was so expensive. It was truly a once in a lifetime experence. If anyone wants more information or more pictures, please e-mail me at [email protected]
