This is the view outside my apartment complex saturday 8/14/04. I live about 3 miles north of MCO

This is a hotel that was clearly hit by a tornado, from what we can put together there were two tornadoes in my area. One hit MCO and did this damage and also the damage in the above pic. The second traveled up SR 436 and hit the goldenrod area.

There is a huge battle brewing between the most of the news stations and the hurricane center, they are saying the NHC was slow and cost people time to evac. expect someone at the NHC to be dismissed over this... we shall see!

for more pics of the damage please see

repairs are going smoothly, most everyone has power. they got rid of the major scars such as billboards twisted up and smashed into the ground. stuff like that was taken care of quickly. I have tons of pics from the aftermath. will post a few tomorrow....

    Hey,
Good to hear you are ok... i didn't go to MCO this time cuz of the storm...

How are things down there now and how are repairs going? I've been to Florida many times and it's sad to see things like this happen

thought i'd check in.... just got my internet connection back 10 minutes ago. Lost power right as it hit us in orlando, didn't get that back until monday afternoon. Unfortunatly my 5 year old comet (pond fish) didn't survive the power outage.

    my neighborhood was badly hit...

    MCO people check in pls!

I slept through it! No damage...nothing! It was just a thunderstorm.

Maybe, maybe not. It all depends on whether it moves inland or moves back over the water. FL should take a lot out of it though.
Looks like he's going back over water....
