The city of Medford wants this KC-97 to become beer cans. Well, that is what they say. The KC-97 (photo below) has been at KMFR since the mid-1960s. However a lot of citizens (aviation and non-aviation) have teamed up to stop this action by the city of Medford. I'm writing this based on rumor (Never a good idea.) I think this aircraft should remain, Southern Oregon has a rich Military histroy and their used to be a large fleet of Air Force tankers based at KMFR until budget cuts after the Cold War. To the city officals who came up with this idea.... I give you this link!

For this and many other fine remarks from my fine local goverment and media, I have made the decision to start a on-line message board SouthernOregonSucks.com Wish me luck.

Good luck with your board, I would find it a pity when this beauty was removed. I remember seeing it in 1997.

      Nice site.
I hope your discussion board succeeds. It would be stupid to scrap that great example of aviation history.

Get the guys at www.seattlesucks.com to help you. Why would you want to trash a cool plane like that anyway? i swear sometimes politicans are dumber than inmates.

yep. nice site. I hope you will win and the plane won't be destoyed.
I don't like drinks in cans at all. So this beauty should stay untouched.

I think they'll find more than enough other aircraft for beer cans in Mojave.! :P
