i had the time to analise it on virtual dub.



with this frame here, he's 1 step over that white line. This was were he would have heard it, unless he was deaf, even possibly slightly before because the northbound car's lights engaged slightly earlier, possibly resulting in an instant skid.



This is where he first looked, 2 steps over that white line.It really should have been obvious to the guy that the westbound car, was now out of control heading NW i.e. to the front of him, due to its origional foward motion, coupled with it's impact from the south.



from pic 2 to pic 3 he ran into the cars path. He almost likely would not have been hit if he stayed where he was in pic 2. Or even better if he ran backwards like he did fowards between pic 2 and 3 he would have been well clear. So unfortunately he ran into the danger, not away from it.
