Go to http://www.cnet.com/ and click on "internet services" on the bottom of their front page. I have found this is a good place to shop for dial-up internet service.

Get one where you don't have to run the stupid software to get the internet connection to work. Before we got DSL we had one called Intergate which was like $10 per month. Just an ordinary dial-up connection.
