  • Full Moon tonight-go get some pictures

    Just for a test I tried some lunar photography tonight and was surprised to get some decent results




    FYI the settings were 1/500th at F8.0 ISO 200, Canon 10D+Canon 100-400IS L lens. Tripod used but no cable release.

    What a pain that I couldn't get a plane in the shot too, but the LHR departures were all just a little too far south for it to work.

      I use my meade telescope to get photos. But i do not have a DSLR that i can hook up to it...only my SLR...but i'll try to get some shots.

        It says pictures... i only see 1 picture

        hehe.. just joking! Awesome shot man! I'm suprised it came out as well as it did! How low (big) was the moon when you took this picture?

                I meant for you guys to go get some pictures , anyway its probably best to wait a few days until part of the moon is in shadow-you get more detail that way.

                  Nice pic. I would get some pics, but I'd need an X-ray camera that goes through the thick layer of clouds over Hamburg .

                    Well, your post did remind me to take a look at the moon last night at 2am!

                    Had a nice big halo around it through some light cloud layers, it looked great because we've had overcast for the past week
